The name “TRUMP” in 100-feet high letters might soon be plastered on the side of buildings in Taoyuan.

On Wednesday, Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan confirmed rumors that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump was considering building luxury hotels and resorts in his city.

A Trump Organization employee came to Taoyuan in September, Cheng said, to declare Trump’s interest in the planned “Taoyuan Aerotropolis,” a large urban planning development project that — if approved and completed — will surround the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport area.

The megaproject is still under review, however, so the meeting was hardly a serious negotiation.

But … reports also claim that Eric Trump, one of Trump’s sons, will come to Taiwan personally to inspect possible business opportunities by the end of the year.

We must admit we’re no fans of Trump, but if he brings jobs and money to Taiwan … that would be YUUGE.
