A dog owner in Kaohsiung City called the police early last week after the pooch brought back a “present” for its owner: a human skull.

After searching the surrounding area, police found a plastic bag containing clothing and skeletal remains half-buried in a wooded area. Criminal investigation authorities say the skull belonged to a male individual who has been dead for at least a month. No immediate missing person was traced to the human remains and DNA analysis and identification is ongoing.

The dog however, should definitely be given a bone or two for helping uncover this skeletal mystery.
